Roman food and music at Mainz State Museum
Last Sunday, we were once again guests at the Mainz State Museum. This time not in a military context, but with a presentation of Roman culinary delights. Accompanied by Roman vocal and instrumental music from the 1st-3rd century AD, we presented a cena with a total of 14 selected dishes according to Apicius. This was accompanied by Roman mulsum and rose wine, which we offered for the first time and which quickly became a great success.
A total of 600 visitors came on Sunday, some of whom spent the whole day in the museum and kept coming back to our stands so as not to miss a single course. This resulted in two almost never-ending queues for the food and wine stands. So it's no wonder that planning for a repeat event has already begun.
