At the beginning of October, we had the great honour of accompanying the opening of the special exhibition ‘Augusta Emerita. Rome's Metropolis in Spain’ at the Xanten Archaeological Park. After a ceremony in the LVR Roman Museum, which was attended by high-ranking representatives of the Spanish and German Ministries of Culture and the museum management, we accompanied the guests in Roman dress on their way to the new APXplore building, where the exhibition is being held. Over Roman snacks and drinks, the guests had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Roman times with us and enjoy the exhibition to the full. With a small sacrificial ceremony, we also sought the assistance of the gods to make the special exhibition a success. The exhibition with over 200 impressive items on loan from Spain can be seen until 12 January 2025.
