For four years now, some members of the association have spent a weekend once a year with the support of the team from the LWL Römermuseum in Haltern as night guards on the Roman fortification there. In mid-January 2023, the time had come again and seven legionaries (of LEGIO VI and LEGIO XXI) started their watch duty. This time they spent the night in the new guard house directly at the wall, cooked exclusively with Roman utensils and the wet and cold weather again put the weatherproof equipment of the legionaries to a hard test. Exactly these opportunities to test the equipment away from the public events in the summer half-year are also an important motivation for this action. As a reward, in addition to the great ambience created by night-time silence and torchlight on the wall, there was the opportunity to try out the Escape Room in the guardhouse (in daylight).
